Design

Lenovo has a bold new approach to the laptop chassis, outfitting the Lenovo Yoga 6 with a dark teal fabric cover that looks and feels like a pair of denim jeans. Embedded in the top corner of the fabric is the “YOGA” logo, while the opposite bottom corner has the “Lenovo” emblem in glossy chrome. The abyss blue continues into the interior portion of the laptop, with a smooth, blue deck and a decent-sized keyboard that has top-firing speakers on either side. The side bezels surrounding the screen are small, while the top is just large enough to support the webcam, but that bottom bezel is a chunker. Since it’s a 2-in-1 laptop, you can fold the lid 90, 180, and 360 degrees, allowing you to put it in a tent or tablet mode, which is nice for folks who either just want to look at the display or want to do a bit of sketching.

Processor

The Yoga 6 is now on its eighth generation, with Lenovo presenting a new model for this year during CES 2023. However, the Yoga 6 Gen 8 shares a few details with its predecessor, including its design. Unfortunately, Lenovo continues to equip the Yoga 6 with APUs based on older architecture designs. While last year’s model arrived with the Lucienne-U and Zen 2-based Ryzen 5 5500U and Ryzen 7 5700U, the Gen 8 features Barcelo Refresh parts with Zen 3 cores. Specifically, the Yoga 6 Gen 8 will be available with the Ryzen 5 7530U and Ryzen 7 7730U, which share many similarities with the Ryzen 5 5625U and Ryzen 7 5825U. The new Yoga 6 also contains 8 GB or 16 GB of dual-channel RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 (M.2 2242) storage. Additionally, Lenovo has included the same 59 Wh battery with the Yoga 6’s 304 x 218 mm chassis, which is 17.36 mm or 17.45 mm thick, depending on whether you purchase the Fabric or Metal edition. These models differ in weight too, with the former 200 g heavier than the latter at 1.39 kg.
